Mackinac Update Issue #0005, June 2011
June has arrived and let the fun begin! Summer residents have arrived and have begun to fill up their calendars with golf outings, horse back rides, bridge games, Mackinac Associates events, poetry readings, Grand Hotel events and, of course, parties!
There is a feeling of excitement and anticipation for the coming summer season.
We hope you will enjoy the Lilac Festival Parade which starts at 4 p.m. immensely. And we hope to see you shortly on Magical Mackinac Island,
Marcia & Kathy
#1) One of our favorite shops on the Island is the Island Bookstore.
Stop in and enjoy this quaint and friendly bookstore. Its square footage is small (but that's what makes it so special) and yet its inventory of great books is huge! It's also a dog friendly shop...so, sit down and browse through a pile of books while your "Fido" takes a quick "dog nap"!
To celebrate their 36 years in business they are providing a 10% off coupon on all books and gifts.
Just print off
the Coupon on our Website Page by clicking here
and to read about this super shop!
#2) Ever dreamed about owning a piece of Magical Mackinac Island?
If you have ever dreamed about living on Mackinac Island, Bois Blanc Island or someplace in the Straits of Mackinac then you need to talk to Jerry or Reinette Murray!
They will listen to your dreams, objectives, and needs closely and will help you
make your Mackinac Island Real Estate dream a reality!
#3) The new Mackinac Community Equestrian Center is unbelievable!
If you are on the Island on Friday, June 10th from 5 to 7 p.m. stop by to see a "preview" of this amazing facility. It won't be totally completed but you will get to see what is about to be an amazing new home of the Mackinac 4-H Horse Clubs and a beautiful tribute to all the horses that have made this Island so magical!
more about the Mackinac Horsemen's Association which is a not for profit by clicking here.
#4)June's Yummy Recipe From Donnybrook Mackinac Island Cookbook
The Donnybrook Cookbook is a compilation of tried and true recipes prepared with love and shared around a large table in the dining room. The cottage is filled with laughter as everyone recalls happy times on Mackinac Island.
For a terrific and easy hors'deuvre,
visit our Donnybrook Mackinac Cookbook page
and read our June recipe for Southwestern Shrimp Dip in A Lettuce Bowl!
We hope you enjoyed this issue of our Mackinac Updates e-zine.
We'll keep looking for Updates to send to everyone in our next Mackinac Update e-zine in July! If you have any events or news you would like us to share just
