Bay View on Mackinac Island

The Sunny Yellow Inn with the Five Star Charm
The Bay View is one of our favorite inns on Mackinac Island due to its owners and staff wanting the very best for their guests. The home was built in 1891 as the first house built on the water's edge and has been in the same family all its 118 years.
It started with only a few bedrooms and two baths but now is a 20 bedroom bed and breakfast each with private bathrooms (although they might be small), air conditioning, cable and internet.

The location being a short walk from downtown past Mackinac island's Marina is breathtaking with boats bobbing in the dock, the Yacht Club on the other side of the street and the Fort looking down upon the bright, sunny yellow house. This is Kathy's sister's favorite bed and breakfast due to her family's love of sailing.

Location is a Short Walk or a Fun Carriage Ride

The arrow points to this delightful Inn. The front porch is small but there are always guests sitting, relaxing or quietly chatting with others while watching the horses, carriages, bikers and walkers going by. The views from the outside porch up stairs are breathtaking so please don't miss climbing the steps to take in the sights.
Breakfast is Sit Down and Gourmet
Chef Rose has been with the Inn for over 14 years and is known for her gourmet seated breakfasts...guests start their days with the aroma of the infamous Bay View Coffee drifting throughout the Bed and Breakfast. In case, you get up earlier than the coffee is ready walk behind the inn and have a cup of java at the Beanery which is directly on the dock. Kids (of all ages) love their hot chocolate, too!
Each afternoon there are homemade cookies and lemonade wiating for you to enjoy. And no matter where you dine on the Island DO NOT (we repeat, DO NOT) have dessert. For Rose and her staff prepares each evening a scrumptious dessert just waiting for you to enjoy on your balcony, on the front porch or in the casual but elegant veranda.
The Bay View is the perfect place to celebrate a romantic anniversary, a northern Michigan vacation or even a honeymoon.
Insider Tip: To truly enjoy this Bed and Breakfast, ask for a room with a balcony on the marina side...it will be well worth the price. Kathy's sister's favorite is Room 207.
