Dad's Cocoa Fudge

5 Tablespoons Hershey's Cocoa
2 cups sugar     1 cup Milk     1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
4 Tablespoons Butter       2 teaspoons Vanilla

Mix sugar, cocoa, salt & corn syrup in 4 quart saucepan, stir in milk. Cook over med heat, stirring constantly, to full rolling boil. Boil without stirring  to 234 degrees. Remove from heat. Add butter & vanilla. DO NOT STIR. Beat with electric mixer till fudge thickens & begins to lose its gloss. Spread quickly in pan.

Lightly buttered 13 x 9 inch glass pan.    
Stir in 3/4 cup walnuts if desired.
