Golf Mackinac Island

Distinctive courses with exceptional views can be yours when you golf Mackinac Island. There are three places to experience golf and they are all great! Space is at a premium on the Island so you will not see long expansive courses, nonetheless they are interesting and each is unique.

The Jewel at the Grand Hotel

The Woods

The Jewel at the Grand Hotel Mackinac Island offers eighteen holes of golf, nine holes at each of two separate locations. The fabulous Island scenery and the immaculately manicured courses provide the perfect setting for golfers of all levels. Where else but Mackinac Island can you hear the clip-clop sounds of horses passing by and see freighters in the distance while playing the great game of golf? You can reserve a tee time even if you are not staying at the hotel.

Wawashkamo Golf Club

Another place to golf Mackinac Island is Wawashkamo Golf Club. The course has 9 holes and 18 tees, five of which substantially change the hole.

Wawashkamo Golf Club

Many first time players look at the card and see a fairly short, straight forward design. There are no water hazards, but there are pot bunkers and the ever present heather. This is challenging, frustrating and fun! Marcia’s husband says, “I have played this course almost all my life and have never “conquered” it yet.” The key word is “yet” because once played is never enough! You need to take a taxi or ride your bike to get there, but it is well worth it.

The Greens of Mackinac

The Greens of Mackinac

Golf Mackinac Island "putt-putt" style at The Greens of Mackinac, a beautiful putting course located at Mission Point Resort. It is a great place for passing time with family and friends. There are no windmills or dinosaurs here! The 18 holes are undulating real grass greens. The site is right next to The Straits of Mackinac so you may see sailboats, yachts, huge ore boats, or even Coast Guard vessels passing by while you play. This is always tops the list when we have house guests. Kids of all ages love this course and you will often see a novice golfer win! The Bistro on the Greens is on site for after, or you can get beverages “to go” during your 18 holes.

Mission Point Resort's putting course is a relaxing and carefree way to enjoy golf and practice your putting skills at the same time. No need to call in advance, just stop by and start the fun!

Insider Tip:
