Indoor Pool and Covered Front Porch

A stay at the Lake View Hotel on Mackinac Island is a great choice if you desire an in-town location and want to enjoy on-site amenities.

Their pool, whirlpool and sauna are located in an interior four-story Atrium. This is a definite plus, availing you of a fun-filled activity if you happen to encounter a rainy day.

This hotel has 85 rooms but only 54 are air conditioned so make sure you request air conditioning if that is an important consideration for your stay. We also suggest a room on the front side of the hotel for a great view of the harbor and breathtaking sunsets. Remember that no matter what the weather may be, water views are ever changing and always interesting. On the other hand, if you choose to book a less-expensive room around the pool area, be assured that they do close the pool promptly at 10:00 p.m. giving way to a quiet night.

The covered front porch is a wonderful place to relax in a rocking chair and watch the hustle and bustle of downtown. The Lake View Hotel is located right across the street from the Shepler’s and Star Line ferries so there is always activity as travelers make their way to and from the dock.

On-site dining can be enjoyed at Goodfellow’s Italian Chop House where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try Wings and Things too. It has big screen TV’s perfect for viewing sporting events. It is just fine for the family during the day, although it is for adults only at night.

Insider Tip: For those on a budget, there is a breakfast buffet included with the price of your room! This could come in handy especially if you are traveling with a hungry family!
