The kitchen is a hotbed of activity around meal time. Family and close friends gather to share laughter, favorite recipes and culinary advice!
We have found over the years that everyone is on time for dinner! Not only is the food delicious, but the conversation is great! There are stories of the day's activities and reminisces of past visits.
This shared time is definitely a highlight of each Island day.
Some of the recipes that we will share in the upcoming cookbook are old family specials and others are newly discovered delights that are delicious enough to make the "keep it forever" list!
These ham roll-ups disappear quickly during cocktail hour. The flags are the perfect touch for the 4th of July celebration.
Appetizers are best enjoyed on the porch while watching the activity in the harbor and the
Straits of Mackinac.
Freighters pass, Coast Guard Vessels and yachts cruise in and out of the harbor, kayaks glide through the waters, and horses clip-clop along the road in front of the cottage setting the perfect stage for visiting.
