Mackinac State Historic Parks have so many wonderful events planned for the 2011 season that you may want to stay in Northern Michigan all summer so you won't miss anything!

All of the activities listed below are included with the price of admission unless otherwise noted.

MAY

Mackinac State Historic Parks Events

  • May 4 - Opening Day at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park Colonial Michilimackinac, Mackinaw City

  • May 5 – Opening Day at Fort Mackinac and Historic Mission Church, Mackinac Island

  • May 7 - Opening Day, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, Mackinaw City

    May 13 - Opening Day, The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, Mackinac Island

  • May 13 - July 14 - Richard Wolfgang: A Life of Painting, Contemporary Art Gallery Exhibition at The Richard and Jane Manoogian Art Museum, Mackinac Island

  • May 28-30 – Michilimackinac Pageant at Colonial MichilimackinacThis is a reenactment of the 1763 Native American’s attack on the British-held fort

  • May 30 – Memorial Day – Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery8:30 a.m. – soldiers will march from Fort Mackinac to the cemetery and perform a short ceremony to honor those who served at Fort Mackinac.

JUNE

Mackinac State Historic Parks Events

  • June 8- August 24 – 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence Tours begin for the season and will occur every Wednesday until August 24.

  • June 11-August 20 – Mackinac Island Historic Downtown Buildings open for tours daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Mission Church 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) until August 20

  • June 15 - 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence Tour

  • June 18 - Mackinac Associates G. Mennen Williams Mackinac Celebration - 6:00 p.m. Tour and cocktail reception at a Mackinac Island cottage followed by dinner at the Grand Hotel. Call 231-436-4100 for price and event details.

  • June 22 - 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence Tour

  • June 29 - 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Michigan Governor’s Summer Residence Tour

JULY

Mackinac State Historic Parks Events

  • July 4 - Star Spangled Fourth of July, Fort Mackinac, 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Celebrate Independence Day 1880’s style!

  • July 4 - An American Picnic, Fort Mackinac, 6:30 p.m. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat picnic at Fort Mackinac and stay for the fireworks. The view from the bluff is fantastic! Tickets can be purchased in advance: Adults - $44, Youth - $22, Children 4 and under – Free. Tickets purchased after 6:00: Adults - $54.50, Youth - $29.50, Children 4 and under – Free. Mackinac Associates: Adults – 33.50, Youth - $16.00, Children 4 and under – Free.

Mackinac State Historic Parks Events

  • October 8-9 - Fort Fright, Colonial Michilimackinac, 6:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (Last admission 8:30 p.m.)

  • October 9 - Mackinac State Historic Parks’ living history sites close for the season.
