Mackinaw City Michigan hotels offer many wonderful choices when planning your northern Michigan vacation. It's also a great place to stay if you want to explore Mackinac Island for a day rather than spending the evening on the Island. Many people see Mackinaw City as the Gateway to Mackinac Island.

If you want terrific views of the Mackinac Bridge plus walk or picnic on the beach near the Bridge then Super 8 Hotels - Destination Super! is a terrific hotel to choose. This is Super 8 Bridgeview not the Super 8 Beachfront hotel. Super 8 Bridgeview has a terrific log cabin style architecture. Itis right across the street from the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse.

You can walk to town and also to other Mackinaw City attractions with Colonial Michilimackinac being our favorite!

There are fun but quaint motels in Mackinaw City if you are looking for a more cozy feel with a "Mom and Pop" family atmosphere. You might feel as though you are going back in time...and maybe that's good when you want a different experience! The smaller motels are usually not close to the waters edge but not that far from it.

Of course, if you larger with more amenities and closer to the water's edge you have lots of Mackinaw City Michigan hotels that are national chains to choose from. These hotels can provide super savings when booked in advance. Most of the larger hotels are beachfront hotels which can provide hours of entertainment if you have children.

If you want more luxurious choices then it's best to stay on the Island where you will more choices of 5 Star Hotels or some wonderful Bed & Breakfasts that are on the Island.

Another great option in this area is to to go camping with your family!

Insider Tip: Don't delay to make your reservation to ensure that you can get the best room with the best view! Mackinaw City, Mi is one of Michigan's most popular vacation spots. So, don't think that there will be good rooms available if you don't plan ahead.
