Romantic Proposals

Settings for romantic proposals are plentiful on Mackinac Island.
Fort Holmes is the highest point on the Island and offers beautiful views of the lake and the Mackinac Bridge. The area is large enough to get away from other people who may be there at the same time. Just off the road on your way up to Fort Holmes is a very nice scenic overlook called "Point Lookout." It offers a great view to the east looking down at Sugar Loaf Rock with the lake in the background. The Somewhere In Time gazebo is on the bluff at the east side of Fort Mackinac. To find it, go behind the Fort to the east and walk across the field to a path that leads to the gazebo. Follow the path beyond and you will come upon a secluded area with a view of the harbor, downtown, and the bridge.
