Round Island Lighthouse Tour Scheduled For July 14, 2012

Put this Round Island Lighthouse Tour on your calendar for it only comes around once a year. Hopefully, in the future there will be more opportunities but for now it's only an annual event.
The date is July 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Of course, weather and water conditions are important factors for this event due to the shoreline around the Round Island Lighthouse.
These are free tours but there is a $10 per person, round-trip ticket to help defray the cost of the transporting of participants from Mackinac Island to the Round Island Lighthouse tour. The boating service is being provided by
Captain John King of Halcyon Charters.
(By the way, his fishing charters are awesome and you will definitely catch some fish and have an outstanding day on and around the Straits of Mackinac.)
Boats leave from the Arnold Line Coal Dock on Main Street and Astor Street.
The Freeland Boy Scout Troop #323 will be our tour guides and are excited to help teach people about this beautiful historic lighthouse. Donations will be accepted to help continue the restoration of the Round Island Lighthouse. Just last year this lighthouse was given new hope to be restored when the Round Island Preservation Society was created to care and preserve this beautiful landmark in the Straits of Mackinac.
