Small Point Bed and Breakfast
Small Point Bed and Breakfast is located about ¾ of a mile east of the downtown area just past
Mission Point Resort
on Lake Shore Drive. It is a lovely Victorian cottage that was built in the Gothic Revival style in 1882. To this day, it sports stunning architectural features that were popular during that time period. The cottage was originally set on the bluff but was moved to its current location in the 1950’s. The east of town setting is very attractive to those who want a secluded place to relax after a day of exploration on Mackinac Island. There is a large wraparound porch with comfy seating; the perfect place for watching freighters pass by, enjoying a good book, or sharing conversation with other guests. Upon your arrival at Small Point, you will be greeted by hosts, Jim and Judy. They started out staying at the cottage as guests and after returning for many years have become the site managers. Since that time, other guests have said that Jim and Judy make you feel like you are “coming home” when you enter the cottage. They prepare a delicious continental breakfast each morning and are always ready to give suggestions and answer questions about the Island. All guest rooms are comfortable but they do not have private bathrooms. The three front bedrooms have a lovely view of Lake Huron so you may want to request one of them. Although this is a smoke-free Inn, smoking is permitted on the porch and deck areas.
