Star Line Ferry

It's fun taking Star Line Ferry Service's hydro jets to beautiful Mackinac Island. Star Line has the only hydro jets running on the Great Lakes.

You can enjoy your ride to the Island in one of their glass enclosed cabins or on the open deck. You can enjoy the view and you will be awed by the 35 foot spray that these ferries shoot in their wake. It's not every day you can ride a hydro jet ferry so you might not want to give up this once in a life time experience.

Hopping one of Star Line's ferries is simple with ferries running to and from the Island approximately every one-half hour during the height of the summer season at both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace docks.
To see a complete schedule of the Star Line Ferry service for the day you are planning to visit the Island click here.

Parking Is Not A Problem.... since they offer free daily dockside parking at both their St. Ignace dock located at 587 N. State Street, and their Mackinaw City dock located at 711 S. Huron. Free shuttle service is offered to and from the dock for local motels and campgrounds in Mackinaw City. An enclosed waiting area is available on the dock before boarding.

Ask about their wonderful cruises! Their sunset cruises take place every Monday evening during all of July and the first two weeks of August in both St. Ignace and Mackinaw City.

Climb aboard and enjoy an 1 1/2 hour historical narrated cruise while viewing the Mackinac Bridge, Round island and Mackinac Point Light Houses as well as getting a great view of Fort Michlimackinac from the water.

Then have a ring side seat to the kind of spectacular sunsets only Northern Michigan can provide.

You can also join the Star Line crew in celebrating the 4th of July on the water. You and your family can enjoy a wonderful 1 1/2 to 2 hour cruise topped off by being able to view the fireworks from Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island - it's quite a spectacular sight! For ticket information on these special cruises call the Star Line Ferry office at 1-800-638-9892.

There's nothing like a Mackinac Island vacation including a ride on a fun ferry trip and planning an evening cruise with family and friends!

Insider Tip: Be sure to bring a warm sweater or even a blanket so you can cuddle up on top of the deck while enjoying a spectacular evening cruise.
